We went to the Pet Retail World Pop Up Event, hosted by our friend Rich Cordero. It was a very fun event with loads of new products that were FREE to try. Mom loves the Lillian Ruff products, CiCi loves the toys and I love the Hemp Treats. We were so excited to be a part of this event Oh and we both got new Buddy Belts! Mom loves the Buddy Belts because they keep us safe and they are easy to grab to pick us up in an emergency. There was one product, the Pet Tote that mom didn't get. She tried her hardest to win it and she didn't. She was sad but we told her that we would buy her one when we get some money. giggle If you missed this event, you missed a good one. We hope Rich continues to have more of these events - we love to find out about new products that we could use.

Last night was the New York Pet Fashion Show. So before I start, let me say that since I have started attending this show, the only thing that I remember is that it is either always snowing (a lot - and I mean like shut down the city snow) or very cold. I don't remember rain though..hmmm. The show always goes on, never cancelled - sometimes its a good thing, sometimes not. Regardless, a few brave souls and their pups (myself included) attended and it was as crazy as ever. The theme this year was Global Couture for Animal Rescue. A lot of countries were represented - India, Puerto Rico and Germany just to name a few. There were a few vendors there, but my favorite is always Tomlyn. They bring products with them - and not samples - and take the time to explain what each product does, how it will benefit your dog or cat and encourage you to take some home with you to try. My pups are over the moon with the Calm and Relax treats that they have and it does calm them down and their products are affordable, a big plus when you have 2 dogs.. There was a new product - well new to me - a light up leash, by Nitey leash. Very stylish but I should have gotten 2. They come in all colors and actually light up. I love it. The shows, and there were 3, were interesting, but I confess that my seat was right behind the press so it was difficult to see. I remember there being a tribute to Broadway Shows, and then the World fashions. The last contest was for the "regular folk" lol and we did enter. Now let me say that yes, it would be amazing to actually win one, but BB has been on the runway since she was 1 and is somewhat over it. CiCi is just making her debut on the runway, so their appearance last night was for CiCi to say that she walked the NYPS runway. They represented India in amazing dresses designed by Asha Vereen. There were also some awards given out and it was nice to see some of my friends receive them. All in all, it was a great time and I certainly hope that they raised a great amount of money for Animal Welfare.
Last night the Pink Angel Fashion Ball at Honda of Manhattan. It was a success. We raised $3,507 in the fight against cancer. 25 designers stepped up and donated a garment that was put into a silent auction after the runway show. We had some amazing models but one stood out for me, little Panda. She was in her doggie wheelchair and modeled Ada Nieves dress like a supermodel. I love when the pawrents keep their kids involved. Adah was smiling down on us - no rain and plenty of sunshine. All in all it was a great event. RIP Adah.
In the Doggie World, sometimes it takes a lot to let people understand that our dogs are not just our dogs. They are family and they mean something to us. And they mean something to the people that have passed on...just like our friend Adah. Adah did not only touch the hearts of the doggie moms and dads, she also touched the hearts of countless dogs. I know that Adah loved her dogs and would do anything for them, but she was also a very special person. She touched many lives and she made me, personally, feel very good about my own issues. Adah was in remission from Cancer and although she had been through a tough time herself, when we talked she always made it a point to ask how I was doing and if there were any new things with MS that I could think about doing. She was just amazing. That is why when she passed it was such a loss to our commuity. We are our own little family and we treat each other as brothers and sisters, fighting, arguing just like family, but in the end we are always there for each other. Adah was in remission from Breast Cancer, but stomach cancer took her from us. We miss her smile and her amazing costumes that she made for her pup Nina. We are hosing a fundraiser in her name for the American Cancer Society. 100% of the proceeds will be donated and we have some amazing people from the doggie community that have stepped up and provided either their time or talent to help make this show possible. We will celebate Adah, her love for us and our dogs. We hope you will come out and celebrate with us. RIP Adah! I miss you!
At Pups on the Runway, we are always looking to come up with different types of events to raise money for Yorkie 911 Rescue. Yes, we are Yorkie 911 Rescue diehards. I think it is because our little CiCi came from there and we are over the moon with her. So in order to come up with something different, we are going to ask our "pups" what type of events they would like to go to and hopefully make them happen. And to top it off, if their event is picked, they get to come to the event for free and also get acknowledged for the idea. We think that this will help to get more pups involved in raising much needed funds for Yorkie 911 Rescue and also engage the public in attending these events, while helping spread awareness on the rescues and the importance of being able to go out with their owner. Yes, we will still hold our staple Puppy Prom yearly, but we will also try to do a few different events for the year 2016. We want to thank you in advance for your support and we look forward to your ideas for next years events. Don't forget to like our page on facebook and follow us on Twitter!
Today we went to the NYC Retails & Sales Pet Expo 2015. There were a lot of vendors there and the cool thing is that they are all Sourced in the USA Vendors. We got to meet a few of the vendors that we didn't know and see some of our favorites. @NuloPetFood, @ThePuppyHugger, @GrandmaeMae's were there. Our fwiends @Doggablestreats, @ScoutandZoes and @Petsmile were there. @Petsmile gave us a cool wand for mom to put the dental paste on our teeth. We let her try it when we got home. We got some tweats from @smartcookee and they were weally good. @dazzlingpawsjewelry was there too and mom weally wanted to buy something but she was talking about a budget. (What's a budget?) It was a vewy good Expo and we thank Ms. Dana for having us. Can't wait to see what she has planned for next year!
At the Pet Expo we met Anna Tigar of Ya Ya's Yum Yums. She had a beautiful table full of treats and even though they looked very pricey they are very affordable. We saw glazed donuts doggie treats, Christmas doggie treats and they were gorgeous. Anna showed us some pictures of cakes that she made and boy oh boy, would I have loved to see the looks on the faces of the happy pups! Their treats are wheat and glutten free and they can cater to you in the NY area. Just give them at least 1 weeks notice. Their website is yayasyumyums.com. Paw on over and take a look at their treats. You won't be sorry! Tell them BB and CiCi sent you! Today the girls and I went to the NYC Re-Tails and Sales Pet Expo. All of the vendors that were there only had Made In New York Products. We walked around and talked to everyone and we want to tell you about a few of the great products we saw. This is Janet Marlow, the Founder and CEO of Pet Acoustics, Inc. She has a great little product that puts out a great sound. It is a little "boom box" for dogs and cats. She has downloaded music into it that is specifically for dogs and it really does work. We were in a loud environment and she turned it on and it soothed the girls. CiCi immediately laid down as you can see in the picture and BB enjoyed it. It is blue tooth enabled and plays on a small speaker with a USB adapter. We usually leave the radio on and all types of music comes out, but this product is a winner for me. I'm thinking stocking stuffer as Christmas is right around the corner. Even better? It is reasonably priced so you won't go broke purchasing one. For more information paw on over to their site and check them out. www.petacoustics.com. Tell them BB and CiCi sent you. |
